Member of the European Parliament, british politician Charles Tannock in the interview with ArmLur. am expressed his concern regarding the recent conflict escalation on the line of contact between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan.

He particularly said, that at a time of collapsing oil prices the last thing Azerbaijan could do was to launch military actions trying to give a military solution to its claims over Nagorno-Karabakh.

”I deeply regret the most recent outbreak of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh where the situation has been gradually worsening over the last 6 months but has dramatically risen in the last few days with not just the use of snipers by Azerbaijan but allegedly very dangerous escalation by its use of tanks, artillery and aircraft in a surprise attempt by Azerbaijan to retake the territory by military force. I am pleased that the ceasefire appears to be holding and believe that all sides must now return to the negotiating table as part of the Minsk process”.
