Քենիայում նման ավանդույթ կա՝ այրել զենքը: Մի քանի տարին մեկ իշխանությունները անօրինական զենքից աշտարակ են պատրաստում և այրում այն:

Ավանդույթը նպատակ ունի նվազեցնել երկրում հանցագործությունների մակարդակը:

«Մենք քաղաքացիներին առաջարկում են ինքնակամ հանձնել զենքը, քանի դեռ ոստիկանությունը ստիպողաբար չի արել դա»,-ասում են իշխանությունները:

Վերջին անգամ այդ արարողության ժամանակ ընդհանուր առմամբ 5250 զենք է այրվել:
